Export, schedule deletion or restore a workspace
Download workspace data and understand the 30-day deletion recovery window.
Workspace export is reversible and creates a point-in-time JSON download. Scheduling deletion is a destructive administrative action that marks the entire workspace for permanent erasure after a 30-day recovery window.
Before you start
• Only a workspace admin can export, schedule deletion or restore the workspace.
• Confirm the exact workspace in the tenant switcher and agree the retention decision with the authorised owner.
Step by step
1. Export before a major administrative change
Open Settings → Workspace and download Your data. Store the file securely and verify that the download completed.
2. Review the danger-zone warning
Read the scope carefully: projects, vendors, evaluations, the software register and other workspace data are included.
3. Schedule deletion
Choose the delete action, type the exact workspace name when prompted and confirm Schedule deletion. The page shows the planned deletion date.
4. Restore during the recovery window
Before the displayed date, any authorised admin can return to Settings → Workspace and choose Restore workspace.
5. Escalate before the deadline
If restoration fails, contact support immediately with the workspace name and scheduled date. Do not wait until the permanent-deletion time.
What happens next
• A scheduled workspace remains identifiable during the recovery window and is permanently erased after the deadline by the retention process.
• Restoring cancels the schedule; generate a fresh export if current data is needed afterward.
Troubleshooting
The confirmation will not accept the name
Type the current workspace display name exactly, including spaces and punctuation.
The Restore button is missing
Verify admin access, the active workspace and that the 30-day deadline has not passed.
The wrong workspace was scheduled
Use Restore immediately, verify the active tenant and repeat only after the target is unambiguous.
