Troubleshoot missing or read-only controls

Work out whether a missing action is caused by role, scope, workflow state or plan.

A missing or disabled control normally reflects one of four things: your workspace capability, access to the specific project or record, the workflow state, or the workspace plan/configuration. Diagnose those in order before asking an admin to grant broad access.

In the app: /help

Before you start

• Confirm the active workspace in the tenant switcher and copy the current page path.

• Do not ask for Admin merely to bypass a single blocked task; identify the minimum required access.

Step by step

1. Check the page state

Look for Draft, Published, Submitted, Approved, Completed, Cancelled, archived or read-only banners. Some actions intentionally lock after an evidence-bearing state.

2. Check record access

Ask the project owner to confirm project visibility and that you are a direct member or included through the intended group or location.

3. Check role and assignment

Confirm your workspace role and any specific evaluator, finance reviewer, approver, stakeholder or vendor-contact assignment needed for the action.

4. Check plan or feature availability

Review Billing or ask an admin whether the feature is enabled. AI, integrations, branding and usage limits can vary by workspace.

5. Refresh authorised state

After an access change, refresh the page or sign in again and return through the normal navigation.

What happens next

• If access is appropriate but the control remains unavailable, raise support with the page, state, expected role and time.

• Keep approved or completed evidence locked; use the supported reopen, new-version or reapproval workflow instead of requesting an unsafe override.

Troubleshooting

The page opens but every action is disabled

The project may be completed, cancelled or otherwise read-only. Check its status and use Reopen only when the workflow permits.

An admin can act but you cannot

Compare your role, project membership and task assignment. Ask for the smallest capability or assignment that matches the responsibility.

Access was granted but the old state remains

Refresh or start a new session, then verify you did not switch into another workspace.
