Create, edit and deploy form templates

Maintain reusable evaluation and survey starting points, then deploy copies into the right project.

The Templates library stores reusable starting points for evaluations and surveys. A template is not a live project form: deployment creates a project-owned copy that can be tailored, previewed and published independently. Keep templates broadly reusable, publish only reviewed versions and update deployed copies separately when a project needs a later template revision.

In the app: /templates

Before you start

• Decide whether the reusable asset is an evaluation template or a survey template and which audience it serves.

• Remove project names, vendor-specific conclusions, live recipient details and confidential evidence from reusable content.

Step by step

1. Open the template library

Go to Templates and review workspace templates and available starter content. Filter by form type or purpose before creating a near-duplicate.

2. Create or duplicate

Start a blank template for a new standard, or duplicate a suitable template or starter. Give it a clear name, owner and description of intended use.

3. Edit reusable content

Build sections, questions, response sets, logic and supported settings that apply across projects. Replace project-specific facts with instructions or placeholders.

4. Review and publish the template

Preview every route, validate scoring and publish when the template is ready for deployment. Archive obsolete workspace templates; hide a starter when it should not be offered, and restore it when needed.

5. Deploy an evaluation copy

From a project’s new evaluation flow, choose the library method and select the published template. Confirm the evaluation type, then edit and publish the project copy.

6. Deploy a survey copy

From Project → Surveys → New survey, choose the library option and select an eligible saved survey template. Review audience and journey settings before publishing.

7. Maintain future versions

Improve the library template for later deployments without assuming existing project copies update. Apply a required change to each active project form through its own versioning process.

What happens next

• Assign a template owner and review date so standards do not become stale.

• Use a short change note when publishing a template revision that project teams may need to adopt.

Troubleshooting

A template is missing from project creation

Check form type, evaluation type, published or deployable status and workspace. Survey and evaluation libraries are used from their corresponding create flows.

Editing the template did not change a project form

Deployment creates an independent project copy. Edit and publish that project form, or deploy a fresh copy if replacement is appropriate.

A starter template keeps appearing

Use the supported hide action in Templates. Hiding affects availability without deleting project forms already created from it.
