Disqovr vs Zip
The short answer
Zip orchestrates how a purchase moves through your company — intake, approvals, purchase orders, the finance system. Disqovr decides what should be purchased, on evidence. A Zip request asks who needs to approve this; a Disqovr evaluation answers whether it is the right choice and how we know. Large companies plausibly run both: the evaluation upstream, the procurement workflow around it.

When Zip is the better choice
- Your bottleneck is approvals and routing across the whole company, not the choice itself.
- You need purchasing connected to an ERP or finance system.
- You buy across many categories, most of which need process rather than evaluation.
When Disqovr is the better choice
- Approvals are not the hard part — agreeing what to buy is.
- You need a level playing field between suppliers, and a record proving you gave them one.
- The purchase is high-stakes and infrequent, so the quality of the decision matters more than the throughput of the process.

Common questions
- Is Disqovr an alternative to Zip?
- No — they do adjacent jobs. Zip positions itself around intake-to-pay procurement orchestration: approvals, purchase orders, ERP. Disqovr runs the evaluation upstream of that, deciding which product should be requested at all. A company can sensibly run both.
- Does Disqovr do purchase orders or ERP integration?
- No. Disqovr stops at the decision and its evidence: a weighted score, an audit trail, a business case and an export. Purchase orders, invoices and ERP posting are somebody else’s job.
- Disqovr has approvals too — how are they different?
- Disqovr’s approval step is on the evaluation itself. The recommendation, with its evidence attached, goes to the people who have to sign it off, and their response is signed and logged. It is not company-wide purchase-request routing.
